I practiced as a cardiologist for 7 years before I came to the United States, working also as an instructor in medical school in China. I translated and published 3 professional books about cardiovascular disease that is 2 million Chinese characters in total. In addition, I was in charge of the publication of Chinese version of the English journal, Clinical Gastrointestinology Update, for which I was the translator for the whole journal. Also, I was the major translator for the first page of the Chinese Medical Tribune, which is published by the Chinese Ministry of Public Health weekly, the counterpart of the Medical Tribune in the United States. I am proud of being having had the experience of introducing a drug to China for treatment of depression in 1998. In that project, the document included all data about basic pharmacology, data about clinical trials (stage I, II and III), toxicology, etc., and it was composed of 2 million English words. In total, I have translated approximately 4 million English words to Chinese. I enjoy medical translation so much, when I translate, it feels like composing a symphony. Consistently, I am able to translate 14 thousand English words into Chinese per night. My specialty includes medicine and medicine-related areas, such as pharmaceutical and modern cellular and molecular biology, gene medicine, etc. For translating Chinese to English, my nightly rate is 5000 Chinese characters.
